Egg Production

Our egg production and packing facilities are accredited by the An Bord Bia Egg Quality Assurance Scheme, this means that we are eligible to carry the Quality Assured Logo on our egg products. The Scheme was first accredited under EN45011 in 2002.

In order to be eligible for the Bord Bia Quality Assurance Scheme our production facility needs to meet the highest standards in the following areas:

• Flock sourcing
• Hygiene
• Disease control
• Flock welfare, including space requirements for caged flocks
• Environmental protection.

We operate a comprehensive HACCP system at our egg production facility. There is particular emphasis on hygiene and disease control, especially on the control of salmonella. The salmonella controls that we implement are essentially built around the sourcing of pre-lay birds from approved sources, the heat treatment of feed and routine salmonella testing on our farms.

The scheme also lays down detailed provisions on flock welfare and on the use of medication.

Egg Packing

We operate a fully developed quality management system and a quality assurance control plan based on the principles of HACCP at our egg production and packing facility. Product identification and traceability is a key element of our quality management system. This ensures that our eggs can be easily traced back to the farm of origin.

Our high quality egg production and packing facility, and membership of the An Bord Bia Egg Quality Assurance Scheme mean that we are an experienced and reputable egg supplier for hotels, restaurants and retail outlets, including supermarkets and multiples.
